Welcome to the City of Florence, Kentucky
If you’ve ever driven on I-95 in Northern Kentucky, chances are you’ve noticed the landmark Florence water tower, welcoming our citizens and visitors alike with a colloquial “Florence Y’all” greeting known to many in our area. Established in 1830 at the convergence of several railroads, Florence is now the second largest city in Northern Kentucky, offering popular golf clubs, retail shopping experiences and sporting events for the whole family.
As a city of nearly 25,000 people, Florence offers a great blend of urban, suburban and rural landscape. We also boast a fantastic minor league baseball team, the Florence Freedom, which has been playing at Champion Window Field and UC Health Field since 2004. Stop by the field for hotdogs and cool drinks on a hot summer’s day, and bring your family and friends to cheer on the team!
We’re a tight knit community of people helping people, making Florence safe, secure and a great place to raise a family. As a city, we have even adopted an active duty Army battalion, the Renegades, and we support them through volunteer opportunities, festivities and welcome home celebrations throughout the year.
Located in the heart of Boone County, the City of Florence offers proximity to both big city living and a peaceful Kentucky countryside. We truly have something for everyone here, making us one of the fastest growing communities in all of Kentucky. With quality schools, business and industry opportunities, indoor and outdoor entertainment for all seasons and a burgeoning real estate market, Florence has so much to offer.
Thank you for visiting, and please come back soon!
